Here you will find some of the most common questions regarding getting a tattoo. If you need any more information or have any other questions,
please feel free to contact us.
What tattoo should I get, and where?
This is all a matter of personal taste. You can get whatever you want - your only limit is your imagination.
As far as where you should get it goes, it's up to you how much you want to show it off.
Many people love bold placements that everyone can see; others prefer having a tattoo where it can be easily covered up with normal clothing.
Your body also dictates what will suit you in terms of shape and placement, and your artist will advise on this.
If you're having trouble deciding on or describing what you want, speak to us! We create custom designs from scratch for many customers.
Does Getting a Tattoo Hurt?
Pain is really relative.
Everyone has a different tolerance to pain. I'm not going to kid you, though -
it does hurt. Just not that much. Some have compared it to a "hot scratching
feeling". But, people would not be returning again and again for tattoo after
tattoo if it hurt that bad! Most of us are not into pain, but the beauty of the
tattoo and the pride associated with wearing it far outweighs a little pin-stick
here and there.
Are Tattoos Safe?
Yes, as long as you go to a reputable artist that is following all recommended safety
precautions. Everlast follows the very strictest standards of tattooing and
hygiene.
How much will it cost?
Each piece is different, each customer is different, and the time and methods taken differ
greatly. Your tattoo will be on your body for the rest of your life and unique
to you, so choosing one based on price instead of quality is not a sensible
idea. Please visit us to discuss the piece you want and we can give an accurate
quotation. There's no such thing as a good and cheap tattoo!
How long will my tattoo take?
Again, each piece is different, each
customer is different, and the time and methods taken differ greatly. Basically,
a quality tattoo takes as long as it takes to do it properly. Your artist will
give you a time estimate when you book your appointment(s).
Why is my Tattoo Peeling and Flaking Off?
Peeling and flaking of a new
tattoo is perfectly normal. Before it actually begins to peel, the tattoo will
look like it's covered with a whitish, cracking film. Then you'll see white or
translucent flakes of old, dead skin start to peel off and some of the flakes
may even contain some ink. Sometimes you can actually see a duplicate image of
part of your tattoo peeling off - it's rather disconcerting, but it is also
perfectly normal and there is no need to panic. It's a lot like a snake shedding
its skin. Just add a little lotion (a LITTLE) to the tattoo to help keep it
moist and encourage those flakes to come off. Do NOT scratch, pick or peel them.
It will all be done in a few days and the color of your tattoo
will start to return to normal.
